Steven P. James

I'm a composer, pianist, and arts administrator currently based in Baltimore. I hold two degrees in piano from the University of Oregon, and currently study composition at Peabody with Kevin Puts. My music is audience-oriented and defined by energy, movement, and adventure, and has been presented in concert from coast to coast in the US and Canada. As a pianist, I champion new music in frequent performances - by the end of 2025 I'll have premiered works by over 30 living composers!
