Leo Appel

A prizewinner of the Royal Philharmonic Society, British violinist Leo Appel was named Best Soloist at the Musik-Akademie Basel in 2025. He appears with ensembles including Esbjerg Ensemble, Kammerorchester Basel, and Arcangelo, performing on both modern and baroque violin. As a keen arranger and artistic director, he directs cross-cultural programmes exploring Judeo-Spanish and Judeo-Arabic music. He has performed at leading festivals including Marlboro, Yellow Barn, and IMS Prussia Cove.
