David Garcia Seixas

David Garcia Seixas, born in Bragança, began his musical studies at the age of 11 at Escola Profissional ESPROARTE, where he finished his instrumentalist course with perfective excellence. Graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Castelo Branco in Music, Instrument variant - Violin with a solistical and orchestral course at national and international level. His taste for contemporary music leads him to be a member of Quartz Quintet, a group founded in October 2017 where mostly contemporary works are performed. As an extra academic training he had the following route: -Orchestra instrumentalist in the APROARTE -Orchestra during the years 2014, 2015 and 2016 -Orchestra instrumentalist at the Orquestra Sinfónica FMJ inserted in the “Junior Music Festival” during the years 2014, 2015 and 2016. -Orchestra instrumentalist at the Gulbenkian Orchestra Internship in the years 2018 and 2019. During his training he had the possibility to work with internationally renowned professionals such as conductors Lorenzo Viotti, Osvaldo Ferreira, Peter Askim, Jan Wierzba, Peter Stark, Julien Benichou and Dietrich Paredes. As well as violinists Anton Sorokow, Jela Spitkova, Gilles Apap, Pedro Meireles, Anne Vitorino D’Almeida and Pavel Milyukov. Awards: 2017 - In the Folefest Festival contest - 2nd prize in the Chamber Music category, Medium Level with the group Quartz Quintet. 2018 - In the Folefest Festival competition - 1st prize in the Chamber Music category, Higher Level with the group Quartz Quintet. 2019 - He is awarded in the National Contest of Montijo with 3rd prize and prize for best interpretation of Portuguese work. 2020 - Selected for EUYO - European Union Youth Orchestra after European Union Youth Orchestra after selection at European level. Since 2017 he has been a violinist in the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2018, he has been a violinist in the Quartz Quintet group.
